Thought it was time to share some of my own creative work on FindingRay.com. I enjoy painting on canvas with acrylic creating fun backgrounds, encorporating found objects into the paint then placing the human figure in the environment. I am currently experimenting with painting horses inspired by my time spent working with horses at a horse rescue on the weekends. I have been an artist for most of my life, but did not find my passion for acrylic painting until I went to college. While attending Cal Poly, SLO persuing my BS in Applied Art & Design/emphasis on Graphic Design, I had the honor of taking many art classes from Professor Emeritus, Joane Ruggles. The freedom I found in painting with acrylic was and continues to be liberating! This medium is so flexible, forgiving and exciting to work with. Joanne has since become a confidant, mentor and friend over the years and I am truly blessed to have her as a person to turn to for honest critiques and advice. My hopes for my future painting is to find a local studio and art community where I can start painting full time. ~Janae Kelly
